She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology and a Doctorate in Psychology, both earned from the esteemed University of Surrey. Her academic expertise extends to various teaching roles, including positions at St John’s School, Leatherhead, and as the Sports Science Officer at The University of Chichester. Presently, she serves as a Senior Lecturer in psychology at AECC University College, where her instructive prowess shines through in subjects such as Applied Cognitive Psychology, Sports and Exercise Psychology as well as the only specialised unit dedicated to Sports Vision in the country.

In 2010, Dr. Wimshurst founded Performance Vision Ltd, a company dedicated to providing vision coaching to elite athletes. Through her work, Dr Zoe has worked with some of the greatest athletes in the world including legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and F1 star drivers Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Dr Zoe has also been heavily involved in winning Olympic Gold medals, World Championships, and European Championships for teams such as GB Olympics, GB Hockey, Harlequins RFC, and British Shooting.  

As a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Dr. Wimshurst serves as the course leader for various BSc programs, including Sport, Health and Exercise Psychology,  and Sports Rehabilitation at AECC University College. She also operates as a sought-after sports vision coach, working with elite athletes across diverse sports like football, rugby, golf, and motor racing. Simultaneously, she continues her pioneering research in areas such as eye tracking in sports, concussion management, and optimizing performance through visual system training.
